The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations scheduled for March 2, 2026, in several Middle East countries due to the prevailing security situation in the region. The decision was announced on March 1, 2026, as a precautionary step to ensure student safety amid regional tensions.

Security Situation Behind the Decision
CBSE cited the current security environment in parts of the Middle East as the primary reason for postponement. Reports indicate that escalating geopolitical tensions, including developments linked to the IranтАУIsrael conflict, influenced the boardтАЩs decision to defer examinations temporarily.
The move aims to maintain safe examination conditions and avoid disruptions for students appearing abroad.
Clarification on Fake Circulars Circulating Online
The official announcement followed the spread of a fake circular on social media claiming cancellation of CBSE board exams due to warlike circumstances. CBSE clarified that only the March 2 examinations have been postponed, not cancelled, and advised students and schools to rely solely on official board communications.
Impacted Students and What Happens Next
Students appearing for the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in the affected Middle East countries will receive updated schedules soon. The board has stated that decisions regarding examinations scheduled from March 5 onwards will depend on the evolving situation.
Candidates and schools are advised to regularly check CBSEтАЩs official portals for updates regarding revised exam dates and further instructions.
